Question: 

What does the name Gordias mean?

Answer:

The name Gordias was chosen to express the release of the Gordian Knot that traditionally exists between classroom presentation systems and lecturers' tables.


Question:

How does Gordias contribute for financial savings for the organization?

Answer:

- Gordias allows to use any ordinary table instead of expensive piece of furniture that is usually designed to accommodate the room PC, user interface including connections panel, control gears,  classroom's PC and its monitor etc.

- Eliminates the need for underfloor cabling and thus lowering constructions costs.

- Cost of AV installation is low, no need for highly trained installers, the system is pre-wired so all that's required is to mount Gordias to the wall and plug in 3 cables from the projector and the electric screen. Gordias is also pre-programmed so there's no need for a programmer to configure the operations.

- Gordias's automatic-power-off function bear significant savings of projector bulbs. It switches off automatically when no people are present in the room.


Question:

How does Gordias contribute to classroom usability?

Answer:

- Gordias permits movement of the lecturer's table to clear space for other uses of the classroom with no physical constraints interruption. This allows to extend capacity when required e.g. arranging the class circle or hosting a panel.

- Gordias allows the lecturer maximum manoeuvring freedom with minimal effort and allows direct eye contact with the students without any interruptions such as the PC monitor.

Which operations can Gordias perform?

Answer:

Gordias performs 5 automated operation sequences:

- ON - Projector powers on, Screen rolls down and local PC image is projected.

- Change source - Last connected source is projected without additional user action. 

- Freeze Presentation - The electric screen is rolled up exposing the board and the projector goes into 'Blank mode'. Pressing the button again reverse the sequence, the screen rolls down and the projector turns back to normal mode immediately without the need to wait for its bulb heating period.

- OFF - Projector powers off, screen rolled up.

- Auto OFF - Same as OFF but activated by a presence sensor.

What types of devices are supported by Gordias?

Answer:

Gordias allows for maximum usability according the principle Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).

Gordias panel has all required connections to accommodate any modern device including VGA & Audio, HDMI, USB, LAN, Mic XLR connection, AC power socket.


Question:

How does the local PC controlled with Gordias?

Answer:

The stationary PC is controlled by the lecturer using the Touch Screen monitor. A standard set of wireless keyboard & mouse  may also be added.
